Take a look at the picture above; look closely at the faces of all those present. Use your imagination -- what is your first impression?
I chose this particular photograph because it impressed me as one that portrays a message we have all heard at one time or another. It speaks loudly of love, adoration, oneness and hope. It reveals the splendor of Gods love as one looks upon the presence of His Son, and it highlights the magnificence of our destinies in Christ.
By faith, we are the children of God, not of any work that we may have done, but by the love of Christ, who gave himself that we may be called the children of God.
In the photograph I am reminded that I am loved by God, guided by angels and supported by those of like mind and heart. I am also reminded that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking onward together in the same direction.
Further, I am reminded that one day I will see things that are impossible to describe, and hear beautiful songs that I could never sing, all-the-while imagining that whoever has not seen that glorious site can speak but very imperfectly of it, and they that have known it cannot tell the thousandth part of what it is. Therefore, I understand the great apostle of the Gentiles, who tells us that he had been caught up into paradise where he had heard unspeakable words which are not possible for a man or woman to utter, wrote that "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man to conceive the things that God has prepared for those that love him."
Heaven one day will welcome us
And only then will we know
The love that deemed us holy
This Christ who has suffered so
So children of God, be strong, be one
In faith and in maturity
Be sober, vigilant and eager
As one-by-one, you enter eternity.
